Nutrition Tips for Maximizing Your Gym Sessions
Fueling your body correctly can make or break your fitness goals. Here are the foundational principles of gym nutrition.
You can't out-train a bad diet. Whether your goal is fat loss, muscle gain, or improved athletic performance, nutrition is the foundation that supports your hard work in the gym.
Protein is non-negotiable. Aim for roughly 1.6 to 2.2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight to support muscle repair and growth. Lean meats, eggs, dairy, and plant-based options like tofu and lentils are excellent sources.
Carbohydrates are not the enemy—they are your primary energy source for high-intensity training. Consuming complex carbs like oats, sweet potatoes, and brown rice will give you the sustained energy needed to push through tough workouts.
Timing matters, but overall intake matters more. While having a post-workout protein shake is beneficial, hitting your total daily macronutrient targets is the most critical factor in seeing results. Stay hydrated, eat whole foods, and be consistent.
